The Rattlers reward for beating three teams ranked higher than them in the Black College Football Poll was a trip home for an early off season vacation.

Nine Florida A&M University football players were honored with selections for the 2008 All-Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference All-Star team.

Quarterback Curtis Pulley, wide receiver Kevin Elliott, offensive lineman Robert Okeafor and special teams specialist and cornerback LeRoy Vann, were chosen as first team honorees.

The Lady Rattlers marched into their battle against the Alabama State University Hornets on Saturday with the idea that mental dexterity would translate into a win. After taking away a convincing 69-47 victory, it looks like they were right.

"I felt we definitely had a strong chance of winning if we focused and kept our mind on the game," said senior guard Deidra Jones.

The rankings are out for the 2008-09 Division I NCAA Men's Basketball, and the season looks promising. Some big returning players across the country look to continue making an impact for their team, and many rising talents are debuting as well. The excitement will panicle as teams fight to make the Final Four in Detroit this March.
